JOTS FROM OLD JAKE

THOUGHT-LESS!

Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 - 10:51 p.m.

Well, it seems that for the past couple of days I havent had any thoughts to share or record. I have been accused many times of being THOUGHTLESS with other words attached Anyway, my thoughts have been kind of jumping around and not settling on any one thing.

The main one though is that everything I hope for in Christ must start at the Cross. What does starting at the Cross mean? The cross is a piece of wood hewn from a tree to form the shape of a cross to facilitate the impaling of criminals in the first century. But the meaning of the Cross is much more than a piece of wood. It is the actions that occurred at A particular time in history that makes the difference. It is the shedding of the Blood of Jesus on that Cross that is of importance! We should be made aware of that importance and renew that awareness from time to time. Without the shedding of Blood there is no remission of sin.. Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Actually the whole chapter of Hebrews 9 is good reading.

Another thought is on things to praise the Lord for Psalms 46 is quite intriguing, what a glorious time it will be when this comes to pass

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
