JOTS FROM OLD JAKE

SAINTS:

Tuesday, Apr. 24, 2007 - 11:25 p.m.

What makes a SAINT? The true meaning of saint as per Strongs Concordance is listed below. The church makes their own definition of saint and sainthood. They pick up someone who was popular with the big wigs of the origination and call him or her a saint. True credit is due to those who deserve credit. And in the secular world that is a great way to do it. However, in the true body of Christ, who-so-ever calls on the name of Jesus and becomes born-again is a SAINT according to scripture. It is not possible for any man to be worthy of any such position with out the Blood of Jesus to wash away all of his/her sins and make them squeaky clean, pure, holy and a joint heir with Christ. There is no getting better than that. The works that are done on behalf of Jesus after that time may be merit for rewards in Heaven. However if payment for those things are accepted here on earth the rewards are not sent to the Great Beyond.

It doesnt make sense, even carnally to accept payment here which will only give pleasure for a brief time when the reward can be received later in Heaven and enjoyed forever That is a long time in anyones book!

While I am on the subject I believe the persons who raise funds for the ministry and give the name of the giver and the size of the gift to the public, or put there name on a brick for every one to see that that person made a contribution to the project, is doing the giver a big disfavor.

Where does it tell us in the Bible not to let the left hand know what the right hand is giving? Also I believe persons who pray their great nice prayers of great oracle quality for show are doing so in vain. They are not looked upon by our Lord as being great. That doesnt exactly show a fruit of meekness in my book.

Anyway back to the word SAINT!

(Psa 106:16 KJV) They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

Todays memory verse:
(Psa 25:2 KJV) O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. 3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. 4 Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

May You Be Blessed by the Holy Spirit to Overflowing!
