JOTS FROM OLD JAKE WOE IS ME! The 77th Psalm relates to all people who are believers. Of interest in this passage is the different words in Hebrew that are translated as trouble. Each having similar but different meanings as in intensity: Psalms 77:1-10 I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me. In the day of my trouble (tsarah tsaw-raw'; tightness (i.e. figuratively, trouble); transitively, a female rival:--adversary, adversity, affliction, anguish, distress, tribulation, trouble. ~ that about includes all the aggravations that could possibly happen to mankind.) I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God, and was troubled (hamah haw-maw'; by implication, to be in great commotion or tumult, to rage, war, moan, clamor:--clamorous, concourse, cry aloud, be disquieted, loud, mourn, be moved, make a noise, rage, roar, sound, be troubled, make in tumult, tumultuous, be in an uproar.): I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah. Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled (pa`am paw-am'; a primitive root; to tap, i.e. beat regularly; hence (generally) to impel or agitate:--move, trouble.) Now the rest of this Psalm I believe must have been the inspiration for the song, How Great Thou Art! Psalms 77:11-20 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled. The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.( I hear the rolling thunder) The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook. Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known. Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
1 John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
Keeping your clothes well pressed will keep you from looking Hard pressed! May you be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit!
