JOTS FROM OLD JAKE

Chaos Jockeys

Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 - 12:13 a.m.

What in the world is a Chaos Jockey? That is a person who will give you false information or will only give bits and pieces of the facts that would support their agenda.

Romans 16:17-18 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark (Watch out for) them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Maybe it will be more clear from another version.

Romans 16:17 - 18 (TMSG) One final word of counsel, friends. Keep a sharp eye out for those who take bits and pieces of the teaching that you learned and then use them to make trouble. Give these people a wide berth. They have no intention of living for our Master Christ. Theyre only in this for what they can get out of it, and arent above using pious sweet talk to dupe unsuspecting innocents.

It is quite clear that Paul warned the believers in Rome against such people. That warning is still valid today. It is not only good advice for The Church, it is also holds true for the secular world in everyday life.

When the church services and fellowships are anointed by the Holy Spirit and particularly the leaders have the whole armour of God on, they will discern false information and anything that is different from their learned knowledge is checked out by the Word of God for validity. Acts 17:11 everyone should memorize and put that verse into constant action. We should not rely on other people to teach us we should rely on the Holy Spirit to quicken to our spirits what is the truth.

There are some ministries who are seemingly in business over the airwaves to badmouth the brethren in the Cody of Christ, the Church. So the warning is for us to be aware of this and to avoid fellowship with such persons. Be careful not to do the same thing they are doing and badmouth them. Bad mouthing is like a cancer it keeps spreading until it runs a bunch of the Body. It reminds me of a problem ranchers have when their cattle have been plagued with grubs. The fly lays an egg on the hair around the hocks of the cattle then hatches to a tiny worm that goes up the hair to the leg and bores in under the hide of the critter. It then bores its way under the Hide upward until it comes to the middle of the back. Then it much larger and bores itself out of the hide and falls onto the ground to start another cycle. Magpies are quite helpful though they see the grub and a delicacy and swoop down on the back of the critter and picks all of the grubs it can find out of the back. The problem with that is, after the grub is gone the magpie wants more of that treat and start pecking and tearing the hide and flesh away digging for another treat. If the rancher doesnt find the problem quick enough and stop it the critter will eventually die.

I see the grub as the tale that is told and grows and the magpie as the people who thrive on such sensationalism and keep picking at the tale.

The secular world is not blessed in that area. They dont rely on the Holy Spirit. And many evil persons will twist words, to different meanings, to make you believe or others believe in their agenda. This also includes people who sensationalize a scenario to arouse the interest of the recipient of such words. Often the basis for this is either money or power oriented. Politicians, Lawyers, Judges, media, teachers, are a few of the types of people who widely abuse this sin.

The sin that causes more pain than any other, I believe, is the sin of Gossip! More lives and families have been ruined by the wagging tongue. For some reason people think they should tell everyone something that is negative about their brothers, co-workers, friends, et al. The fact is that is contrary to scripture even if the tale being told is truth.

Now my opinion of the (master Chaios Jockeys) the media: I do not believe that they have a right to encroach on other peoples private lives and blast it over the air or print it on paper for public distribution. There are limits on what they should divulge to the public. Sure the public has a right to know if something harmful is coming their way so they can prepare for it. But that should be limited if it gets in the way of public servants working to stop the problem. Like I said that is only my opinion. It is much more complicated than that but this should give you an idea of where I am coming from. An old saying back in WWII: Loose Lips Sinks Ships

Proverbs 18:4-8 The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment. A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Proverbs 20:19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

Proverbs 26:18-26 As a madman who casteth firebrands, Arrows, and death, So is the man that deceiveth his neighbor, And saith, Am not I in sport? For lack of wood the fire goeth out; And where there is no whisperer, contention ceaseth. As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to inflame strife. The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts. Fervent lips and a wicked heart Are like an earthen vessel overlaid with silver dross. He that hateth dissembleth with his lips; But he layeth up deceit within him: When he speaketh fair, believe him not; For there are seven abominations in his heart: Though his hatred cover itself with guile, His wickedness shall be openly showed before the assembly.

VERSE FOR THIS ENTRY!

Luke 12:31-32 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

ULTERIOR WORDS OF WISDOM OR/NOT!

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a mans character, give him power.
