JOTS FROM OLD JAKE

Ode to our Leaders;

Friday, Nov. 02, 2007 - 12:04 a.m.

Romans 13:1-5 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Our leaders must answer to God in the final bout. They are set in place by God and commit to an oath before God and man to uphold the constitution of this our country. They may not take that serious but it will be serious on judgment day when they have to account for their doings.

This is a country that is based on the premise that our government is by the people for the people. This means that we are self-governed. By design that makes you and I and all people who are eligible to vote responsible for the actions of our government and thusly must account for the deeds of this nation.

The judgment on this nation is our own doing we elect the persons into office to make decisions that effect us. If the nation leaders are amoral then the nation is amoral and can expect judgment to fall upon the entire nation. It is easy to slip into a comfort zone and feel sorry for the judgments that befall some parts of the country and say, isnt that a shame? and overlook the fact that if we the people who are called would humble our selves and fall on our face before God and repent, judgment would be withheld.

We should be loyal to our leaders and obedient to them as unto the Lord, as they are under the guidance of the Lord.

If we have a problem with what they are doing, the place to remedy the problem is on our knees before God. Also give feed back to our elected officials as to what needs to be done. NOT to bellyache to our neighbors and friends.

The free press is an important data provider to us. The corruption within that realm is detrimental and is one of the main battle fields of our time. The news is quite often slanted to fit their agenda The internet is good in this way because much can be brought to or attention that is not tainted by the big money agenda seekers. However, it is still wise to consider that the sources may also have false data and or have their own agendas too.

Times are getting interesting now and I believe the Lord will not terry much longer, but there is much that will happen first Let us be all that we can be for the Lord until he comes.

How: by confessing all known sin; walking moment-by-moment, Taking every thought captive, Taking one step at a time, Trusting in Him And by being transformed by the (continual) renewing of our minds
