JOTS FROM OLD JAKE

Davids Temple?

Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 - 3:54 p.m.

The wise King Solomon built a temple to the Lord. The temple is commonly called, Solomons Temple and is well know world wide as such. The truth of the matter is that it was a building designed by David, materials provided by David. Construction was done by Davids close friends. But the Lord told David that he could not build it but his son would. A person might consider that the proper name the credit for its being should be placed on David. I believe that the Lord would rather it be placed on the son of David, Solomon.

The temple is referred to many as being the house of God. Solomon, in his wisdom prayed at the dedication of the temple saying that it was ludicrous to think that that house could contain God, since that heaven of heavens could not contain him!

This was only a place where the people could gather to worship Him. A point of contact with Him.

When the Arc was brought into the temple the Glory of the Lord filled the place. That was a super anointing WOW it had to have been a wonderful place to be when that happened. Here I go again saying just how wonderful the anointing of the Lord is..! I have never enjoyed being drunk with alcohol but I truly love to be drunk in the Spirit of the Lord!

1 Kings 8:28-32 (KJV) 28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day: 29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place. (or, in this place) 30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: (or, in this place) and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive. 31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath (Heb. and he require an oath of him) be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house: 32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

That promise is the same today except that with the event of the Supreme sacrifice having been given the temple is no longer a building but instead is the heart of the believer. We no longer need to go to a certain place to worship God. We have that place with us everywhere we go.

That makes it more convenient for us to pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV) Pray without ceasing. Now when we utter prayer to God we are standing on Holy Ground already. But, Wait! Doesnt He know our very thoughts?... 1 Corinthians 3:20 (KJV) And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. How many times does the New Testament mention that Jesus knew the thoughts of the people he was talking to? A bunch of times He is like his Father and had the same abilities. My point is that when we are allowing the negative and or evil thoughts to run through our weak minds we are praying these things to the Father. Maybe we dont want it that way but He is not deaf, He hears. I believe that is the reason that we need to keep our thoughts in check and as soon as they come we need to take authority over them and rebuke them in the name of Jesus and ask that they be purged from our hearts. I do the same when I wake up from a dream that is not glorifying the Lord. We will not be totally rid of our sinful nature until we receive our glorified bodies when Jesus returns.

VERSE FOR THIS ENTRY!

(Mark 9:23 KJV) Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
