THE PROMISE:

Moses talking to the children of Israel:
(Deu 4:20 KJV) But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
Just a little reminder of where they had come from. Then he tells them how he made intersession for them when they went goofy. He had a lot of Hudspeth! (if that is how you spell it?) He stood up to the Lord and told Him that to destroy all of the children of Israel would make for bad publicity to the rest of the world. I don�t think I could sass the Lord like that. I KNOW I COULDN�T! But the Lord listened to him and did make concessions for them. Don�t get me wrong� the belly-achers did get penalized.
(Deuteronomy 9:26-29 KJV) I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand. Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin: Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness. Yet they are thy people and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest out by thy mighty power and by thy stretched out arm.
(1 Kings 8:51 KJV) For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:
(Eph 1:11 KJV) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Now my point: this inheritance is for us! We are the Inheritance that God the Father gave to His Son before the beginning of (our) time. Perhaps that is why He loves us so much and is so forgiving of our stupidity / ignorance!
