JOTS FROM OLD JAKE MERCIFUL: (Mat 5:7 KJV) Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Merciful: G1655. eleemon, el-eh-ay'-mone; from G1653; eleeo, el-eh-eh'-o; from G1656; to compassionate (by word or deed, spec. by divine grace):--have compassion (pity on), have (obtain, receive, shew) mercy (on). G1656. eleos, el'-eh-os; of uncert. affin.; compassion (human or divine, espec. active):--(+ tender) mercy. Mercy is mentioned 276 times in the KJV. Eleven of those times are mentioned in the Greek text meaning obtain mercy. Merciful is listed 40 times in the scriptures. Seven of the times are in reference to men being merciful so thirty-three of the times is of the mercifulness of the Lord. The first mention is in Genesis 19:16 where the Lord being merciful unto him (Lot) and had angels grab him and his family and led them out of city which was about to be consumed by fire from Heaven. The last time is in Hebrews 8:12, referring to the Lord being merciful to His people. The one verse that stands out to me at this time is in Luke 6:36 Jesus, on the mount talking to the multitude, (Luke 6:36 KJV) Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. for they shall obtain mercy. Obtain mercy: G653. eleeo, el-eh-eh'-o; from G1656 eleos, el'-eh-os; to compassionate (by word or deed, spec. by divine grace):--have compassion (pity on), have (obtain, receive, shew) mercy (on). ~~~ AMEN AND AMEN! May You Be Blessed by the Holy Spirit to Overflowing! Bye for Now!
