JOTS FROM OLD JAKE

BACK BITING THE PREACHER

Tuesday, Apr. 17, 2007 - 9:00 p.m.

(Psa 105:15 KJV) Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

As to being judgmental of other teachers of the Word of God I have always believed that when we are talking about the Ministers of the Gospel we should keep our mouths shut. The Lord judges them harsher than the followers and He doesnt need our accusations to help Him to judge. Psalms 105:15 says it pretty plain. That is a command. The scripture doesnt say it is not nice to judge or do harm to It says DO NOT TOUCH MINE ANOINTED. My point is that we are expecting great things from the Lord but then we back bite His anointed. How should we expect anything from Him. The children of Israel who did that in the wilderness never made it out of the wilderness. We must take heed on that lesson.

It is not detrimental for us to mess up once in a while, (in my case more often) if we learn from that experience and go from there. King David was such a person who was always messing up and he was looked upon by Jesus with great admiration. Peter was always letting his mouth get him in trouble. He even did violence against high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. The Lord was forgiving and used Peter in a mighty way. He led thousands to a saving faith in Jesus after the day of Pentecost.

I feel that we really need to get before God and pray for our nation. This up coming election is going to be critical for the future of this nation. So far there has been no one stepping up to the plate what strikes me as a viable leader and protector of our faith.

1 Thes. 5:3 (Amp)
When people are saying, All is well and secure, and, There is peace and safety, then in a moment unforeseen destruction (ruin and death) will come upon them as suddenly as labor pains come upon a woman with child; and they shall by no means escape, for there will be no escape.

I do, however, believe that the time is short and we shall see the Lord in the air as we are floating to meet him. That doesnt mean we wont see some disasterly (new word) things prior to that time. But we can rest in our faith knowing that we already know the outcome, the final book, the everlasting place of our residence. What more could you ask for? Not a one of us deserve it, but He loves us so much He will make sure we will make it if we come to him.

May You Be Blessed by the Holy Spirit to Overflowing!

Bye for Now!
