JOTS FROM OLD JAKE

RESURRECTION!

Wednesday, Apr. 04, 2007 - 10:11 p.m.

Having studied different parts of the Old Testament, I discovered that, although Israel was chosen as Gods Chosen People The people He made a blood covenant with They could not live within the rules set forth by God through Moses. They would be really blessed by God and then forget that miracle or blessing shortly after and then fall away from the their walk in truth and blessing. They kept going back to worshiping of false gods and then the Lord would bring punishments upon them. They would get another Judge or King who would sometimes bring the people back to worship of God. The new Leader/King would start taking down the idles and bring the children back into line with Gods plan. However, some of the Leader/Kings would only go part way and the nation would go through many trials. The Nation split up into two segments having their own Kings The old saying about not learning from history held true back then as it does now.

We can do some arm chair judging of Israel but, we better watch our judgments closely. We have been doing the same thing. Christ has made it so easy to find salvation and to stay in tune with God. But our Leaders have many times led us into idolatry. It is so subtle we dont even realize what is happening when the spiritual wool is being pulled over our eyes.

The pagan leftist have infiltrated our churches and Christian groups and have been doing so for many years. For instance the celebration of Easter Sunday. The word Easter only appears once in the King James version of the Bible. That is in reference to the evil King Herod celebrating the pagan Easter holiday.

(Acts 12:4 KJV) "And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people."

This holiday was celebrated from way back just after Nimrods death. Nimrod had married his mother who became Queen Ishtar after his death. The great Queen decided everyone should worship her and having all of that power became a god to her people.

Keep in mind that all of this was many centuries before Jesus was born of His virgin Mother.

Anyway more of the story is detailed below in the reference. The point I am trying to make is that I dont feel it is wrong to celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But we should not be swayed away into including the pagan holiday festivities along with our celebration. Easter is the English pronunciation of Ishtar or we would call Queen Ishtar: Queen Easter! I have heard some people say that by calling our celebration it includes the non believer into our festivities and draws them close to the Lord How foolish that statement is! That very act is drawing us away from our first Love Jesus. The Lord tolerates our miss givings and miss conceptions over and over just like He did with the Jews Where did that lead them? Remember We (the gentiles) were not His first chosen. True He did love us so much that He sent His Son to deliver us from our sin and shame, but, dont be foolish and allow other gods or pagan worship rituals get between you and Him.

May You Be Blessed by the Holy Spirit to Overflowing!

Bye for Now!

Reference:

Easter began during the Babylonian reign on this earth, thousands of years before Christ was born. Legend has it that Nimrod married his mother, whose name was Semiramis. After Nimrod died, Queen Semiramis created a religion where she would be worshipped as a goddess. Her name was changed to Ishtar which is pronounced Easter. The Babylonians worshipped the sunrise, therefore they had a goddess to reign over the celebration: Queen Easter. Queen Easter became pregnant by the sun-god, Baal, and when her son was born, she named him Tammuz. As you recall Tammuz was mentioned in Ezekiel 8:14, which shows you how far this heathen worship was carried out: Then He brought me to the entrance of the gate of the LORDs house; and behold, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz. Worship of Tammuz was carried on by GODs own people, Israel! The Easter legend goes on to tell of Tammuz being killed by a wild pig and his death being celebrated on the 1st Sunday after the full moon where pig was served as the main course. Because her son had loved rabbits, legend tells of Queen Easter changing a bird into an egg-laying rabbit, thus you have the Easter bunny. Queen Easter was also called the goddess of fertility and depicted as a bare-breasted queen of sexual desire. The priests of her temple would impregnate young virgins at sun rise on Easter Sunday; the babies from these unions would be sacrificed on the altar and eggs would be dyed in the blood of the babies and given as offerings to the queen of Easter. The truth is that Easter has nothing whatsoever to do with the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. And some have wondered why the word Easter is in the King James Bible. Acts 12:4 tells us that the evil King Herod was planning to celebrate Easter: And when he had seized [John the Baptist] he put him in prison, delivering him to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after Easter to bring him out before the people. The truth is that eggs, rabbits and Easter ham have everything to do with the ancient Babylonian religion. Because satan is a master deceiver, he has filled the lives of well-meaning, professing Christians with idolatry through celebrating this pagan holiday. In reading this unbelievably macabre legend of Easter, you will realize that paganism has infiltrated the contemporary Christian churches. As the days of our Lord Jesus crucifixion draws ever closer, please be mindful of the glorious resurrection of our Savior and Redeemer, and work on removing the name of Easter from your holiday celebrations.
